The cable started to pop and hiss and make the most horrible noises at random that you do not want to hear in your headphones, ever.Įventually, the cable only "worked" (and by worked, I mean it did transmit some sound, but not at even a decent quality) if it was being held/wedged into the socket of the GameDAC. However with this cable, after one single incident of catching the wire as I slid back from my desk and detaching it from the headset, it no longer stayed snug and thus started to cause issues. It is designed so that the cable pulls free and doesn't rip the much more expensive headphones off of your head or desk. The plugs at each end that I thought fit well? That lasted for the first accidental unplug and then that was no longer a feature either. They have essentially been turned into decorations and have no mechanical purpose whatsoever. The only problem is, these pieces are made from an absolutely pointless material with zero rigidity. ThSteelSeriesere are black plastic pieces at the ends, designed as stress relief on the cable, so that the constant back and forth movement doesn't reach the copper wires inside that actually matter. This cable was taken to that point and then whoever made it decided they were going to squeeze a bit more out of it and that is where the problems start. There is nothing wrong with model of production. Most consumer goods are made at to be manufactured at the lowest price point possible. However, that is where the similarities end. It is nice and snug just like the original from SteelSeries.

The cable actually fits both the headset and then GameDAC perfectly. I bought this as a replacement for my SteelSeries Arctis Pro with GameDAC.
